Pave-Lok is designed for
flexible pavements laid on sand or roadbase and sand. It is used
instead of mortar to prevent cracking across the pavers and
mortar.
In the event of movement of the
pavement, small cracks between the paver and the Pave-Lok will
occur instead of larger cracks across the paver and mortar. Pave-Lok
is suitable for use in driveways, footpaths, a sloping site, where
there is heavy traffic movement and in high wind areas (minimising
wind-blown joint erosion).
Pave-Lok has been specifically
formulated using graded, wash sand and additives to allow rapid
filling of joints in paving. The dry Pave-Lok is swept over the
completed paved area until all joints are completely filled and
finished with an even spray of clean water to set the Pave-Lok.
Once dried, the Pave-Lok paved
area will allow slight movement of pavers without cracking. Your
paved area will be ready for use after a minimum of 24 hours and
will resist rain after 30 minutes.
Note: Pave-Lok cannot be used
where pavers have been laid on concrete as this base provides an
inflexible base and prevents drainage necessary for Pave-Lok to be
effective.
